The Busy Bus

What happens when you're always busy? Is it a good thing? Yes. No. YESNO. It's a tough answer and I feel like it could go any way at anytime. Needless to say I've been riding the busy bus. In fact, I submitted First Position to Goodreads and refined the blurb, which felt nice like. The cover reveal should occur next weekend - and I am soooo excited :) As my list of "To Dos" is slowly dwindling, I sigh with relief but also feel immensely antsy. I already have so many other ideas I'm ready to put down on paper that I wish I had more hours in my day! I'm sure I'm not alone. To my friends who feel like they are constantly riding the busy bus, remember to get off every now and then to relax, recollect, & recharge. I know for me that's sometimes all I really need.

You're Attracted To What??

I once had a man approach me and ask "Is it odd that I find your ankles attractive?" My immediate thought was YES. YES. Ummm...YES! and I prepared to tell him so, but then I realized... I'm attracted to some rather strange body parts myself.

The other day I found myself lusting after a man's calves, granted I felt silly for doing so. But it didn't hamper my desire nor the urge to reach out and feel their strength. I didn't act on that urge - lucky for him ;)

It's not just limbs, lips, brows, and hips that attract women and men to each other. It can be something as simple as the tone of their voice (Ethan Peck) or the way they smell. I loved how Hermione describes freshly cut grass as one of the scents that attract her when reacting to Amortentia (Harry Potter).

Today I'm challenging myself to really think what attracts my characters to each other. Sure, beauty is always a predominant reason, but often times the strongest bonds are forged on the simplest of traits.

Are We There Yet?

Now I understand why people make a decent living setting up websites and managing social media accounts. Ummm...it's hard. I'm pleased to pat myself on the back and say I did this myself - thank you! I've wasted precious moments that could have gone towards character development, but let's consider this a break. A really long, necessary break.
